I/O SIGNAL REPLICATION SOLUTION USING WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY
The innovative WIO® System by OleumTech® is a patented wireless I/O mirroring solution for solving a vast number of industrial automation challenges using rapidly deployable point-to-point radio communication systems. The WIO System enables you to quickly and easily monitor and control remote or stranded assets without ever needing to trench to run conduit and wire, saving you a significant amount of time and money.
Certain automation projects that were once considered to be cost-prohibitive or unjustifiable can now easily be solved using the WIO System. The OleumTech wireless I/O systems can swiftly connect over harsh terrains and long distances using its fast, reliable, and secure RF architecture, and are extremely easy to use since there is no software that you need to learn to program.
The WIO System is immediately deployable to monitor liquid level, high level detection systems, pressure, temperature, safety showers, on/off states, valve positions, and many other critical process variables. You can also trigger alarms, control valves/machines, and do much more.
The WIO System offers two wireless platforms: One that offers an integrated radio and I/O design with a fixed I/O count for ease of use. The other system is modular allowing you to fully customise and scale the I/O mix and count to meet specific I/O requirements.

Integrated Radio and I/O Design:
The OleumTech® WIO® System (Radio Kit with Onboard I/O) provides instant I/O connectivity and is one of the easiest and most cost-effective solutions for solving a vast number of point-to-point I/O and stranded asset monitoring and control challenges. The kit is comprised of Radio Module A and Radio Module B. The Kit provides two unidirectional analog 4-20 mA inputs and outputs (A to B only). It also provides two independently configurable discrete I/O channels that can be set up for the signals to travel in either direction (A to B or B to A). For the sake of simplicity and ease of use, the I/O count in this system is fixed (non-expandable). This WIO System option is designed for use in non-hazardous/ordinary locations. The original Modular WIO System is also available if you require a scalable or customisable I/O solution. |
Reliable, Robust, and Secure:
The WIO System leverages reliable, robust, and secure RF technology that replaces traditional hardwire systems by eliminating the need to trench and run conduit and wire. By doing so, the WIO System provides significant reduction in both setup time and cost for users. The Radio I/O Kit is available in 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, or 868 MHz option. The Radio set comes paired from factory so there is no additional work for the users. The system offers secure RF communication using AES encryption and fail-safe output protection in case RF goes down for any reason. The communication response time can be set to either 400 ms or 1 second, giving you additional control in update speed and power usage. |
WIO® MODULAR WIRELESS I/O SYSTEM
To build your custom wireless I/O system, you start with a factory-paired WIO Radio Kit. The kit is available in 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz.
You can add matching pairs of I/O modules to each WIO Radio Kit in any order or mix to meet your exact I/O requirements.
The WIO System mounts and works with standard 35 mm DIN rails.

Custom-Tailor I/O Mix, Bi-Directional:
The OleumTech® WIO® Modular Wireless I/O System provides instant I/O connectivity and is one of the easiest and most cost-effective solutions for solving a vast number of point-to-point I/O and stranded asset monitoring and control challenges. Each Radio Kit can be fully customised using available 0-10 Vdc, 4-20 mA, and Digital I/O Modules. The bi-directional connectivity gives you the flexibility to connect third-party equipment such as PLC or RTU to either side of the radio link. Just Add I/O Modules:Constructing a WIO® System begins with a WIO Radio Kit. The kit includes a factory-paired Radio set and all the mounting hardware necessary for installation onto 35 mm DIN rails. Then, simply add matching pairs of I/O Modules to get just the right mix of I/O. There are three available I/O Modules to choose from: Analog 4-20 mA, Analog 0-10 Vdc, and Digital. Each paired Radio System provides a secure I/O link using AES encryption. You can safely and reliably run multiple radio pairs in close proximity. No Programming Required: Not having to learn or program any software is what makes the WIO System so easy to use. And although this system does not require any programming, an Advanced UI (User Interface) for PCs is available to take full advantage of the entire feature set. Through the Advanced UI, you can view and optimise RF strength; view input and output status; set analog fail-safe output values; locally force outputs for diagnostic testing; and more. Fail-Safe Output Protection: You can set the predetermined value for each output in case of a RF or I/O failure. DIP switches are used for the Digital I/O Module to control the fail-safe output settings. The Analog I/O Modules default to 0 V or 4 mA. Advanced UI can be utilised for setting any other desired value. The system’s RF and I/O health can be remotely monitored by tying the NPN outputs on the Radio Modules to a third-party monitoring system. |
